Back from this splendid weekend in Madrid, still on Air France.
Check-in
24 hours before departure, we check-in for Paris.
Being on separate tickets and with different flexibility requirements, we couldn’t check-in together and chose seats 07D and 07F, hoping no one would choose 07E.
Ground and lounge experience
We arrive at the airport 2 hours before the departure and proceed to the check-in of our luggage, and continue to the security control.
The priority lane is completely empty and we are airside in less than 2 minutes.
We go to the Puerta del Sol lounge located on the mezzanine and welcoming Air France passengers.
Very good lounge with a rather decent buffet and a rather impressive choice of wines.
Boarding
The boarding starts with 10 minutes delay.
The priorities are well respected, but the boarding is, as usual, chaotic: more than 40 minutes to board a medium-haul aircraft!
I notice during the boarding that a Non-rev is upgraded at the gate… It starts well!
Service
Once the cruise begins and before the economy class service starts, I notice that the purser is bringin glasses of champagne into the cabin without offering it to me.
The service starts quickly and I am served a sandwich and a Perrier. I notice again that the flight attendants make absolutely no effort to communicate to the non-French speaking clientele and I get upset about this without any reaction. Unacceptable!
Arrival
We arrive with 5 minutes of delay on the planned schedule, nothing serious. Note the excellent announcements of the captain.
Bottom line
A very mediocre flight, at a very high price.
