Last step of this trip in Asia, the return to Paris from Manchester on Air France.
Check-in and ground experience
This time we will check-in our luggage in the hold. The number of suitcases swelled a bit during our stay and it’s more complicated to have the same amount of cabin luggage in economy on a medium-haul flight as in first on a long-haul flight.
No one in the queue. The operation will be completed in no time
Then we went to the security controls which, like when we left Manchester on the outward journey, were once again painful and tedious.
After a visit to the “1903”, the excellent lounge available to Air France passengers in Manchester, we headed for boarding.
Boarding that will be on time. This will have happened to me so rarely this summer on Air France that the event is worth mentioning.
The cabin
And this is the seat I’m going to spend the next hour in.
The space is correct, I can put my legs under the front seat.
At the knees level it is correct without more.
Seats that do not recline, of course. The armrest is minimalist as is the thickness of the seat. For an hour it’s fine, but beyond that it’s uncomfortable and even a pain in the ass.
By the way, from now on, the refreshing towels made available to passengers are colored in accordance with the airline’s communication campaigns.
The tray table is really not big.
You can’t fit an iPad on it, so imagine a laptop!
We’re leaving on time…
The flight and the service
The take-off allows a look at the Mancunian countryside.
Fortunately that the flight will be short because there is really a lack of room.
The service begins. The flight attendant is smiling, which is quite rare. No particular expectation on the service served, I hate the “bobo-style” wraps and sandwiches that Air France has been offering for years.
And this time excellent surprise: an ice cream (we are in August).
It’s surprising, it’s refreshing, it’s even good!
So I say ” Congratulations and well done ” !
I will revise my judgment a few days later by realizing that ice cream had obviously been the ” summer hit ” on Air France in medium-haul economy…the first time we find the idea excellent, after the 4th time (and always the same flavor) it’s boring.
The flight goes well and we arrive at Roissy in advance…not displeased to return at home after this long journey.
Short-lived joy…since we are 5 minutes early no one is there to maneuver the jetway so we will wait until the right time for someone to disembark us.
Bottom line
An uneventful flight with no other point of interest than to mention the excellent idea that Air France had last summer to offer ice cream
