Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific has announced that it is joining the “Worldwide by easyJet” service launched by the low-cost airline.
This service allows a passenger, from a single site, to book connecting flights on partner airlines. In concrete terms, passengers can, for example, book a medium-haul connection on easyJet in connection with a long-haul Cathay Pacific flight.
This is an intelligent way for easyJet to position itself on the long-haul market where it is absent, and a safeguard for the passenger who will avoid the hassle of self-connection.
Today the partners of Worldwide by easyJet are : Cathay Pacific, La Compagnie, Loganair, Corsair, Neos, Virgin Atlantic, Thomas Cook, Norwegian, WestJet and soon Aurigny.
A trend that confirms that partnerships are the future of alliances? We’ll discuss this soon…
