The situation is not improving between the founder of EasyJet and the management in place against the background of the cancellation of an order placed with Airbus in 2013.
As we reported some time ago, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of the airline (who no longer holds an executive position) is very upset with the current management of Easyjet. It believes that due to the post COVID context the order of 107 aircraft placed in 2013 has no reason to be in a sharply contracting market and believes it should be cancelled.
The current management believes that the order is still necessary and reassures that the airline has no cash flow problems, contrary to what its founder suggests. The purchase would therefore not put the airline at risk.
In the meantime, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who wants to take advantage of a meeting scheduled for 22 May to bring down the current management, is offering 5 million euros to anyone who can help him find a loophole that will allow the cancellation of the contract between Easyjet and Airbus and 11300 euros for anyone who can provide him with information.
