Continuation of my itinerary to Budapest with this flight operated by a sad Bombardier Dash8 (I hate this aircraft)
Boarding
Boarding will be by bus. Our flight was delayed by an hour, so we took advantage of the lounge and arrived at the very beginning of boarding.
Because of the bus boarding, priorities will not be respected, which is good for the flow of traffic.
This is one of the first times I have not seen a Gate Lice in Europe, a practice that horrifies me.
So it’s off for a little bus ride on the VIE tarmac.
Cabin and reception
The flight attendant on this flight gives a rather warm welcome. I’m in row 3 of this antique cabin, organized in 2-2 as it is usual on this aircraft.
Surprisingly, the pitch is quite good.
Service and catering
Although the flight lasts only 30 minutes strictly speaking, a bottle of water and a hot drinks service is provided, which is a nice surprise.
A coffee (excellent because it is filtered and not instant) will do the job.
Arrival and disembarkation
Dash8 will be a bus disembarkation.
Luggage will take over 20 minutes to arrive, despite a strict respect of priorities: 2 flights have to be delivered before ours on the carpet in an extremely small delivery room for this airport, which has been ranked the best in Eastern Europe for the sixth year in a row by SkyTrax…
Bottom line
A short flight but a rather motivated and friendly crew. Only the Dash8 is a negative, especially as it requires boarding by bus (or on foot, but this is not feasible at all airports).
