Waiting for my Air France flight back to Paris, I went to kill time at the ANA Lounge in Terminal 1 of the Lisbon airport.
For those who would wonder, ANA does not (unfortunately) refer to the excellent Japanese airline but to the Vinci subsidiary operating airport lounges.
Location of the ANA lounge at Lisbon airport
You have to walk a long way to get there, through the duty free area and then through the whole commercial area of the airport until you reach the huge “central square” from where the corridors lead to the different gates.
Then you have to take the escalator to go upstairs…
From there we have a superb view over the crowd that piles up below.
Given the way Lisbon airport is organized, you may have to walk a bit to get to your boarding gate but nothing insurmountable. On the other hand, the lounge could not be better placed as it serves the different halls equally.
Who has access to the ANA lounge at Lisbon airport?
Lots and lots of people as the sign in the entrance shows.
In addition to the long list of airlines that invite their status and business passengers, there are also Priority Pass and Dragon Pass members.
This explains why the lounge is always very full, even crowded.

Once you have passed the entrance, you arrive at a reception where the eligibility of the passengers is verified.
I will make the same remark that I regularly make for the lounges that not only accept passengers according to their status or class of travel but also allow the purchase of lounge tickets: two separate queues should be set up.
Indeed, while it was enough to scan my boarding pass to give me access, I was stuck for 10 minutes behind two families where one was a priority pass member and bought tickets for the others, which logically generates a little administrative and waiting time….
Anyway, here I am in the lounge. It is composed of a large space in one piece, divided into areas with distinct furniture and vocation.
Here a space where armchairs are arranged around low tables.
And the TV broadcasted on a wall…
There is an area where the chairs are lined up…and without tables.
Nice view on the runways…
There an area more suitable for catering
An area a little more “design”…but right in the way.
There are electrical outlets everywhere….may not be aesthetic but devilishly practical.
In addition, there is a smoking area…
A working area :
And showers…
My opinion?
The lounge is large, but not large enough for the number of people it receives. For once I managed to find a seat immediately, which was not always the case. Otherwise it is bright and the furniture very comfortable.
The only negative point: the fact that it is often very full with little separation between the spaces creates a “station hall” effect that is not always the most pleasant.
ANA lounge catering at Lisbon airport
The lounge has a buffet, cold only. The offer is varied but neither sophisticated nor really qualitative.
Let’s say that it feeds and that it has the merit to exist… without more. Disappointing in a country like Portugal.
As for the offer of drinks, it includes hot drinks, soft drinks, but also a correct offer of wines and strong alcohols without more.
Nothing to get excited about, but there again it has the merit of existing.
Bottom line : decent
A rather pleasant lounge when it is not very crowded, that is to say rarely. Comfortable furniture, bright lounge but too much noise and it feels like a train station hall.
Very average catering offer.
