KLM presents the aircraft of the future, 20% more fuel efficient

Simple style exercise or real industrial project? KLM has teamed up with the University of Delft to develop the Flying-V, which prefigures what the airplane of the future could be in terms of environmentally responsible and sustainable air transport.

With a capacity comparable to that of an A350 (314 passengers, same cargo volume), as wide, but less long and much lighter, it should consume up to 20% less fuel.

A flying model will be presented this October at Schiphol during the KLM Experience Days to mark the centenary of the Dutch airline.
