Residence Inn Paris CDG : Ultra disappointing

As part of a business trip to the capital, arriving late from London, I decided to stay at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport, and to try a new hotel on the platform: the Residence Inn Paris Charles-de-Gaulle.

Freshly opened, the hotel is accessible via CDGVAL, which makes it even more interesting. So I decided to make a reservation to test it… I was wrong…

Booking

I made the reservation a few days before my arrival. For a half-service hotel, the price is not sweet, almost 130€ a night, breakfast included. Anyway, breakfast is supposed to be included in all the hotels of the brand…

Arrival

I checked in 2 days prior to my arrival at the property. Until I arrived, there was no upgrade listed in the app, nor was there any indication that my room was ready.

I arrive at the property around 11:10 pm. From 11pm onwards, the doors of the latter are closed, and it is necessary to go through the Courtyard in order to enter and complete the check-in formalities.

I am asked to choose my welcome benefit, I will choose the points… Given the meager choice available, the restaurant and bar already closed… Welcome!

No upgrade available, as the hotel seems to be full. In short, no effort, it feels good.

Room

My “studio” room was located on the 5th floor of the property.

Residence Inn is an apartment hotel concept, and this room does not fail on that point. The entrance leads to a fully equipped kitchen: combined oven, electric plates, refrigerator and dishwasher.

All glassware and cutlery is also available.

Behind it is a small office and lounge area, as well as the sleeping area with a king size bed.

Finally the bathroom is behind the night area. The decoration is rather successful.

On the other hand, no water in the room, and the cleaning leaves something to be desired. For a brand new hotel, this is unfortunate.

Finally, the virtual visit in video:

Hotel facilities

The hotel shares many spaces with the neighboring and recently opened Courtyard. The fitness room in particular and the laundry room, which I will not use.

Catering

Catering is also provided by a restaurant shared by the two properties.

Breakfast service

Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Courtyard restaurant.

I went to breakfast almost as soon as it opened, around 6:15 am. The room was deserted and I was the only customer at that time.

The buffet is limited in size but of good quality. The room is also very pleasant. The first good experience of this stay!

Departure

The departure formalities were simple, and the invoice will be sent to me by e-mail.

Bottom line

A very average stay. I probably won’t return.
