Review : Sheraton Grand Krakow

I stayed in Krakow at the Sheraton Grand as part of a stay to celebrate the end of a professional era. A look back at a very, very short stay.

Booking

I made the reservation using the Marriott Bonvoy app (at the time, Starwood Preferred Guest) using my business’ corporate code.

Arrival

On the day of my arrival, I see on the app an upgrade to a Deluxe Suite. After spending the night at the Sheraton Paris CDG and then an uneventful flight on Austrian in Business (running for a connecting flight), I arrive by taxi at the Sheraton Grand Krakow.

The property is located just a stone’s throw from Krakow’s Old Town, which can be reached in 5 minutes on foot.

The lobby is stuck in the past

The restaurant also seems to date from another era.

The building does not have much charm, but the atrium inside is quite nice.

Back in the 80s by the lifts!

However, the interior of the lifts has been renovated

A rather cold reception as a Platinum member, although I was given a good upgrade.

Room

My room is on the top floor of the property. It overlooks the large square in front of the hotel, on the main façade.

A professional Nespresso machine is available in the entrance of the suite

The entrance is rather spacious, and leads to a fairly large bathroom with shower and bath.

The bathroom is rather modern

The bathtub… Yuck! Do you prefer shower or bath?

A little crocodile that still hangs in my bathroom!

The room is also very spacious, the desk well equipped and the bed huge.

The lounge and office area is very spacious. The carpeting is of questionable taste.
IMG_0716
The decoration of the bedroom area is very elegant and the bed extremely comfortable

I will have a good night’s sleep, very restful.

Finally, the visit in video:

Hotel facilities

The hotel has a fitness room and a swimming pool which I will not use this time.

IMG_0334
The pathway to the pool and spa is quite elegant

A quick view of the pool from the fitness room
IMG_0337
The swimming pool is very pleasant, and quite rare in a hotel in the city centre

The gym on the -1 floor is also a little small but well equipped, and the reception is charming.

IMG_0333
The entrance is not very inviting
IMG_0335
The cramped space of the gym

Club Lounge

The club lounge, located on the first floor, is pleasant although blind. And there is a catering offer during the day.

Plenty of very comfortable relaxation areas
IMG_0725
There are even tables set up
IMG_0727
And workspaces with a beautiful blue screen 🙂
IMG_0721
An interesting presentation
IMG_0724
There are of course hot drinks and snacks available at all times
IMG_0726
Some local delicacies
IMG_0722
Alcoholic beverages are available at all hours, unlike most lounges
IMG_0723
The wine is of excellent quality

Departure

The departure formalities were simple, completed in less than 2 minutes.

Bottom line

A stay that does the job. What more could one ask for?
