In Lyon Saint-Exupéry a robot parks your car

Technology is used in all sorts of ways to improve the traveler’s experience. Sometimes it is a gadget and sometimes it has a real added value. This is the case of the service that will soon be set up at Lyon Saint-Exupery airport.

The traveler going to the airport by car will be able to reserve a parking space on the airport site. When he arrives at the parking lot, there is no need to go and park at the end of the world, he will put his car in a box and a robot valet will go and park it in its final place. The same goes for the return trip, where the passenger will find his car in a box.

Initially, 4 robots and 12 boxes will be installed for a total of 500 additional parking spaces. If the system is successful, it could be extended to 6,000 places.

The service is provided by Stanley Robotics.
