No terminal 4 at Roissy before 2028

We told you about the Terminal 4 project at Roissy, which was to be delivered between 204 and 2028. This staggered delivery was originally requested by Air France, which was to be the exclusive user, with ADP preferring delivery in 2028.

Obviously, the side effects caused by this gradual implementation on the airline’s operations are not to the liking of Ben Smith, the new CEO of Air France-KLM, who has finally opted for the solution that least degraded the quality of service, namely the one originally proposed by ADP.

Another option being considered to absorb the expected increase in Air France traffic and possibly postpone the entry into service of Q4 to after 2018: the construction of a new satellite (S5) at terminal 2, with a smaller capacity than the existing ones. However, it should be built in place of the 2G which receives Air France regional flights.

Let’s remember that the design of the terminal is still controversial with its two dead ends that would impose driving times considered less than optimal.

At Travelguys, we ask ourselves why make things complicated when simple configurations with proven efficiency exist, as for example at Atlanta.

After the CDG Express, the construction of which is likely to be postponed, it is one more piece of equipment expected for the 2024 Olympic Games that will not see the light of day on the expected date. Hopefully the facelift of the Gare du Nord will not follow the same path.
