Even Emirates cuts back on its loyalty program

At Travelguys, we have long been aware that a loyalty program rarely, if ever, evolves in the interest of the customer, and there are few examples that will make us change our mind.

The latest example is Emirates, which is reducing the level of services offered to passengers who purchase a ticket or upgrade with Skywards frequent flyer miles.

Emirates offers limousine transfers to its Business and First passengers, and until now this service has been available to both ticket-paying and mileage-paying passengers. Starting in March, customers traveling in Business or First with a ticket or upgrade purchased with miles will no longer be entitled to this benefit.

A discreet announcementbut the terms and conditions of the service have been updated.
