The Wanderlust Singapore, a Design Hotels member : Stylish, small and cute

When it comes to choosing a hotel in Singapore, it’s hard to find a reasonably priced option. The Wanderlust was therefore for me an interesting alternative to the other Westin, Sheraton and St. Regis, too expensive for me, especially after a vacation in the small paradise that is the Andaman.

Booking

I booked this hotel via the SPG app as I usually do.

Note that the Design Hotels brand does not allow for the full benefits of the loyalty program for its members. Nevertheless I continue my reservation at the hotel Wanderlust very attracted by the very low rate. For about 120 € a night I get a reservation at this hotel.

Arrival

I arrive from the airport in an Uber to the property. The property is located in the Little India neighborhood, and it’s popular, which I like. I don’t necessarily like the aseptic side of Singapore and the fact that I’m in a neighborhood that is much more lively interests me.

The welcome is not particularly warm. Of course, I know that I am in a Design Hotel, and that I don’t have any particular benefits related to my status. The receptionist hands me the access cards to my room.

I take the opportunity to walk around the lobby, which is decorated in a very interesting way, and which is totally open to the dining room. So I go up to my room, located on the second floor of the hotel.

Room

The tour of the room will be quick. It is only about ten square meters, it is actually a single room, which contains both the sink, the shower and the bed. I have a little bit the impression to sleep in the bathroom. But I knew what to expect… So you’ll find the pictures below.

And the video here:

In spite of its small size, this room seemed to me rather pleasant, as long as I didn’t spend an infinite amount of time there. It is absolutely impossible to work in this room given its configuration.

Restaurants

I did not take advantage of the hotel’s restaurant, simply because it was closed on both nights of my stay. I didn’t have breakfast either.

However, the restaurant has an excellent reputation, the French chef being a big part of it.

Hotel facilities

The tel does not have a fitness room, but does have a small jacuzzi that was located on the same floor as my room. I took the opportunity to take a dip once or twice. And it was rather pleasant…

Departure

The departure formalities were very simple, although I was not allowed to check out late. So I joined Bertrand at the St. Regis (which review you could discover here) before leaving together for the airport.

Bottom line

The hotel is rather pleasant, on the other hand I will choose a slightly larger room next time, which would allow me to feel less confined. It is a hotel that has a lot of charm and charm that will appeal to young couples who want to discover the city and who do not have a huge budget. It humanizes this city that I don’t particularly like.
