July 25, 2001. I was on vacation in Paris with my mother when I heard this special edition, on France 2, announcing the crash of the Concorde on a hotel in Gonesse, just a few minutes after taking off from Roissy. This crash marked the death warrant of this mythical plane, whose operation made the prestige of Air France and British Airways… but did not bring in much.
13 years later, the travel and air transport enthusiast that I have become has only one regret in this area: no longer being able to travel on this beautiful bird.
I will pass over the technological feat of flying a commercial aircraft at supersonic speed. Even if it arouses admiration, this subject has been extensively covered elsewhere in the Wikipedia page devoted to Concorde , which is excellently documented on all aspects.
Concorde, for me, represented the prestige of France, especially in terms of gastronomy and service.
