InterContinental Geneva: a very attentive service

I booked in this hotel for a weekend in the capital of French-speaking Switzerland, just for one night.
If you follow us on TravelGuys, you will have noticed my recent ire for IHG following my stay at the InterContinental Tahitiregarding the points credit that was not done correctly.
Also, I am in the process of liquidating my points at IHG. Geneva being a very expensive city, I took the opportunity to use some points for this night that I would qualify as transitory.

Booking

The reservation was made via the IHG website, using points.
Two options for 35,000 points: theHoliday Inn Express at the airport or the InterContinental. The choice was quickly made, especially since the InterContinental is 5 minutes from the station by bus.

Arrival

Arrived by the Air France flight from Paris, I take a transport ticket (free) before leaving the customs area. I go near the station to take the bus number 5, direct to the InterContinental after 7 minutes of travel.

The welcome is very warm, each person welcoming me in a very natural way, whether it is the doormen, the security staff or the reception staff.
The check-in, in addition to being done in a very sober and luxurious way, was done in an efficient way: my loyalty was thanked, I was confirmed the use of points and asked if I wanted a transportation pass and a late check-out, then confirmed an upgrade to a Deluxe room with a view on Lake Geneva.

The room

Although small, the room that was given to me was very pleasant. A small corridor leads to the bedroom, which has a double bed, a small armchair and a desk with a very comfortable chair.

A short virtual visit is necessary:

The view is quite magical, over the Geneva night and Lake Geneva, superb.
The tones used are very pleasant and the age of the hotel is not perceptible in this room.

The room is full of power outlets adapted to all transformers, very good point.

In the bathroom, the old-fashioned aspect stands out somewhat, but the impeccable maintenance of the installations and the flawless cleaning give a real impression of luxury.

I must say that I slept like a baby in this room, and would have rested well a few more hours.

Hotel facilities

Given the brevity of my stay, I was not able to take advantage of the hotel’s facilities. However, I took some shots of the lobby, beautiful especially at night.

Restaurants

Same thing about the restaurant, I didn’t take any meal in the hotel. Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy the bar Les Nations, with an excellent Champagne Cocktail served with passion by the staff and especially with great attention for the few customers present. The “Fireside” atmosphere is very, very pleasant. I spent more than two hours there.

Departure

As for the arrival, the departure formalities were simple and above all very fast.

Conclusion

Really an excellent stay in this Geneva hotel. A high quality staff and perfectly maintained facilities make it a reference in Geneva, comparable to President Wilson.
