AF447: The emotion, 6 years later

Few words come to me, just a deep emotion for the passengers and crew members of the Air France flight 447 that was supposed to fly from Rio to Paris, which crashed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on June 1st 2009.

I now know most of the people who managed the event at Air France, and they did a remarkable job.

A completed survey that deserves careful reading

On the facts, the investigation is now over, and is incredibly well documented by the BEA. The complete investigation report, with supporting photos, is available on their websiteand we invite you to consult it, free of any press interpretation that could bias your judgment.

Similar expectations on the Malaysia Airlines and Germanwings crashes

An investigation of this level is necessary on the crashes of MH370 and 4U9525. The families must know, especially concerning MH370, whose disappearance remains mysterious, and feeds the imagination of conspiracists of all kinds.

Always the glass half full

Crashes, even sad ones, make air transport evolve in a positive way. The human factor has once again become key in pilot training, especially in degraded situations. Recovering one’ s pilot reflexes and forgetting about the electronics are the key in such cases.

In any case, even if mistakes were made, let’s salute the courage of the crew, and the memory of the passengers of flight AF447.
