Debriefing my stay in Lyon

It was a very short stay (a day and a half), but its purpose was more gastronomic than touristic, and I had already written an article in the past about my visit of Lyon.

As far as the hotel is concerned, there are no surprises with the Marriott Lyon Cité internationale, which still has the same qualities and one handicap, its location (we can also add its gym). Too bad there are no other Marriotts in town, which is incomprehensible for a city like Lyon. One day, I’ll have to try the Intercontinental Hotel Dieu, which I find very appealing. I got a taste of it by going to its bar, where one of our loyal guests bought me a drink for my birthday, and this foretaste really makes me want to go there.

As for the restaurants, Sully was half a disappointment. I won’t make a definitive criticism, as I may have chosen the only dish that didn’t suit me, but it’s proof that you can offer home cooking with fresh food and still not get the results you want. On the other hand Mère Brazier, highly deserves its two stars, and where the chef skillfully perpetuates the rich and distinctive history of this more than one-hundred-year-old establishment.

As for the train, here again there’s no surprise with a product that’s been seen and seen again, but which never disappoints: Trenitalia and its Executive class. In the future, I’ll have to try out the company’s other travel classes, of which there are 3.

Here it is, an article as short as the stay was brief…
