After two great days in Bangkok, it’s time for me to discover a new country and a new airline.

Today’s itinerary

Check-In and ground experience

Having bought my ticket at almost the last minute, I can check-in for my outbound flight immediately after purchasing the ticket. At that time, no window seat was available, and it was at 05G that my first boarding pass was issued. Fortunately, on the morning of departure, a window seat became available and I made the change to 10A.

I arrive at the airport about 3 hours before departure. Eva Air checks-in in Zone L, at the far end of the Suvarnabhumi check-in area.

As the Taiwanese airline has made Bangkok a temporary hub for the duration of the COVID, the number of counters is impressive, and they were almost deserted when I arrived.

My boarding pass is issued quickly and I’ll be using Fast Track for security and immigration.

Location and welcome

The lounge is located on the mezzanine of concourse F, and as with all Suvarnabhumi lounges, you have to go down one floor from the Duty Free level.

It is located opposite one of the Miracle lounges and the Air France-KLM lounge.

I was warmly welcomed and allowed to enter the premises.

Lounge design

Like it or not, I’m a big fan of the lounge’s futuristic design, because it’s not cheap at all.

A variety of areas are available: for dining, resting, massaging, working – in short, there’s something for everyone.

The bathrooms are bright and immaculate.

Catering

The food and beverage offer in the lounge is very good. Alcohols are fairly premium (except wine, which should be avoided), and a wide range of soft drinks are available.

The buffet is very varied, with a mix of Thai and Western dishes, plus a few desserts.

I’ll be making a light selection of dim sum to go with my Whisky.

Bottom line

An excellent stay at the lounge, which offers a very high level of service.
